RECLAIMED HAND HEWN BEAMS

Rustic reclaimed antique hand hewn beams are salvaged from old barns and other buildings ranging from 100-150 years old.  Most of our beams will come with an antique honey brown patina and will have mortise pockets and peg holes.  Hand hewn beams were hand shaped with a adze, hatchet or axe, and you can see the chop marks.  Reclaimed beams come fairly square, anywhere from 4”x 4” to 12”x 12”.  These sizes are approximate and will vary from beam to beam.  As an example, a beam could be classified as 6”x 6”, but actually be 5 ¾”x 6 ¼”.  They also range in lengths from 8’-18’ or longer.
